Description of current human trafficking issues related to this country - Colombian women and children are found in sex trafficking around the world, particularly in Latin America, the Caribbean, and Asia. Authorities reported high rates of child prostitution in areas with tourism and large extractive industries, and sex trafficking in mining areas sometimes involves organized criminal groups.
Description of Illicit Drug Trafficking/use - Approximately half of the world’s cocaine comes from Colombia. Last year alone, at least 17 million people used the illicit drug allegedly consuming between 700 and 800 tons of pure cocaine with a street value of at least $20 billion.

Bogota erupts in protests after it emerged suspect in killing seven year old from a poor distrcit is from a wealthy family.

A little ten year old named Yuliana Andrea Samboni was snatched from the streets of her small in Bogota by an SUV, ten hours later her body was found raped, tortured and strangled, in the machine room of a hot tub at a nearby luxury penthouse. The suspect, Rafael Uribe Noguera is from a wealthy family of lawyers and architects, but at the police found his brother guilty for the little Yuliana’s murder from a suicide notes from people affiliated with her murder. The Colombian’s existing laws do not stipulate the death penalty or life sentences with this crimes. Uribe faces up to only 50 years in prison.
Based on this article is my opinion towards Colombia changed completely. I think is very
Heartbreaking how their criminal justice works. Most of the crimes against small crimes are made by wealthy people who can cover their little mishappens.
This article relates to Colombia’s sex trafficking and raped incidents around the country. It gives a clear visual of what the country’s laws have to say about aggression made towards poor people and how they take advantage of their living situation.
